Sermorelin

Sermorelin is a synthetic peptide that mimics Growth Hormone-Releasing Hormone (GHRH), a naturally occurring hormone produced in the hypothalamus. Here’s how it works. 

Mechanism of Action

1. Binds to GHRH Receptors: Sermorelin binds to GHRH receptors on the anterior pituitary gland.
2. Stimulates GH Release: This binding stimulates the pituitary to release growth hormone (GH) into the bloodstream.
3. Increased IGF-1 Production: The liver responds to the increased GH by producing more Insulin-like Growth Factor 1 (IGF-1), which promotes the anabolic and growth effects in tissues.
4. Physiologic Regulation: Sermorelin stimulates GH release in a more physiologic and pulsatile manner compared to direct GH administration, preserving feedback mechanisms and reducing the risk of overdose or desensitization.
